Sherpas.dev is a SaaS platform that provides analytics and automations on top of collected statistics. Currently we support two types of events: VCS (Commits and PRs) and Tasks (Opened, Commented, Reviewed, Updated). We use these events to a) Provide visibility of the team's output and b) Watch for room for improvements applying Agile best practices
These are battle-tested rules of software development teams that we carefully gathered and automated. Here's a set of examples:- Tasks should have description with context to minimize 'start cost' and reduce mental load- Contributors should push code at least daily- Tasks should be treated as work logs: progress documented, context added, findings explained- and so on...
The most important step we've done is that we built the system where we don't collect or store any PII. This eliminates the biggest risk of data breaches. Also, we have security automations all around the cloud infrastructure and code pipelines. We committed to keep the processed data in-house without third-parties involved (neither processing nor selling). Please see our privacy page for details
Sherpas.dev integrates with the providers utilizing their official Apps Frameworks. Our integration apps are officially registered and vetted by the providers and help us to get insights for analytics with your permission. These integrations are modules developed for specific use cases and formats depending on the provider.
